Exciting Car History
My first car was a 1977 Toyota Celica, it had everything I wanted. It was the fastback that had the louvers and a chin splitter… blue with a body kit, the perfect sports car.

It strikes me as funny now but I drove it without paying any attention to its maintenance. One day I was driving along and I was hearing a crackling noise from up front so I slowed down because I was worried. Then something hit the ground, so I stopped and pulled over… turns out it was my brake shoes that had fallen off. Continue reading

Any exciting car history…
Um… well with my first car when I started modifying it I had some interesting experiences.

One time I took it to Midas Muffler to get an exhaust leak welded. The guy was welding on it and the car was running. I told the welder to be careful because he was near an oil line. He started shooting off  that he’d been welding for 20 years and blah blah blah and about two seconds later there was a fireball underneath the car. Any exciting car history…
(Laughing)… That I want on record?

I’ve had way too many cars… My first car, people wouldn’t expect it, was an ’81 Chevy Malibu with the ‘Taxi Package’ and a 3-Speed on the floor that I should have kept and put a Corvette motor into, but didn’t. My parents’ Corolla, that was the green one. Ever since that car I’ve had the Corolla bug in me since that’s what I learned to drive in. And I’ve always thought that it (the Corolla) was a great platform. I remember putting my buddies studded winter tires onto it from off of his CRX. We raced around the woods in Beausejour, doing time trials through a rally course we had set up.

There was a Protege, a Jetta… that sounded like the devil everytime you stepped on it. Yeah, it’s come around full circle. After the Cressida I’m back to a Corolla which I don’t owe money on.
